We all know them. Caution! Hot! ⚠️Warning! ☠️ Toxic! ? Do Not Go Beyond this Point! You get the idea.
What about the warning labels of life? I'm not talking about "look both ways before you cross the street" or "what goes up must come down." I am also not talking about "things you should know to survive hostile environments." (I am not just meaning the possibility of being lost in the woods or jungles, but some of the places we find ourselves in our own daily lives.)
What would the warning label look like for something like Rejection? Betrayal? Fear? I wonder what you would place on a warning label like that? Using caution and warning labels all came about after someone experienced the consequences of a poor choice. It's why we have laws and regulations to protect society, right? Cook thoroughly. No texting while driving. Wear a hard hat. And so on.
We know through our own experiences, or the experience of someone brave enough to share what they went through, to not repeat those things. Warning labels are a great idea! Avoid death or serious injury...check check! I like it!
But what about the things you cannot avoid in life? What about Rejection? Betrayal? Fear? How would we caution or warning label those?
I didn't realize rejection and betrayal had what I call an "after shock." Like the tremors after the main earthquake. I didn't realize what all takes place after enduring such painful moments in life, that it can change your course in life. Fear itself never comes alone. No, fear always brings friends. And they are the very much unwanted guests in life. It varies for each of us because we are unique and in that uniqueness comes different "after shocks."
Fear comes with insecurity. It also brings criticism and false judgments. Fear brings depression. It brings loneliness and isolation. Self-doubt or doubt of various kinds. Worry. Guilt. Shame. Anger. And more. I see Fear as needing a heavy CAUTION sign and WARNING label. It's more than hazardous to your health. It's worse than a contagious disease effecting the masses! It runs rampant and shatters so many lives! It should be required to have a label of both warning and caution!
When someone faces Fear, Rejection, and Betrayal, they can then take the appropriate steps of caution. Very much like, "If you get this product in your eye, wash thoroughly and proceed...." They can then face these painful events, times, and afflictions in life with Hope and Bravery, knowing it wouldn't be the end. They would be aware of side effects of believing Fear and go get the help they need. They'd realize their life doesn't have to be crippled by Fear, Rejection and Betrayal.
I am curious. How would you Caution against Fear, Rejection and Betrayal? What steps would you tell someone to take after experiencing painful moments? What warning would you give someone? Please join our group of survivors and share your experience and what you would tell someone in your shoes. You never know how your victory may encourage someone just starting into or right in the middle of fighting against the pain of Fear, Rejection, or Betrayal.
Philippians 4:8-9 (TPT)
"So keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always. Follow the example of all that we have imparted to you and the God of peace will be with you in all things."
Acts 4:29-30 (TPT)
"So now, Lord, listen to their threats to harm us. Empower us, as your servants, to speak the word of God freely and courageously. Stretch out your hand of power through us to heal, and to move in signs and wonders by the name of your holy Son, Jesus!”
Proverbs 12:6 (TPT)
"The wicked use their words to ambush and accuse, but the lovers of God speak to defend and protect."
