Butterfoot Life Coaching
"WHEN WRITING THE STORY OF YOUR LIFE, DON'T LET ANYONE ELSE HOLD THE PEN."
If you have experienced a toxic or abusive relationship, it’s time to recognize your value, identify your goals and move toward your dreams. Intentionally write the story of your life and thrive instead of cope in someone else’s story!
Hi! I’m Robin and I am so glad you are here! I am a Toxic Relationship Resilience Life Coach and love helping people overcome the devastation that accompanies toxic and abusive relationships. I have experienced plenty of my own, both inside and outside the Church, and have overcome them in a wonderfully satisfying way. It wasn’t easy! But I learned how to use them to propel me forward into what I wanted in life. Of course, like most people, I often had no idea what I even wanted. But I learned that too and started growing into it. People who have been affected by these debilitating relationships have extra hurdles to overcome. They need someone to come alongside who really understands where they are coming from and can help them overcome their specific hurdles. I would like to be that person to you! :)
Many people are curious about the name Butterfoot, so here’s where I got it from…
Job 29:6 NASB has always intrigued me,
“… my steps were bathed in butter and the rock poured out for me streams of oil!”
Job and his wife suffered so much. They experienced good times and hardship. We all do! Yet their lives are a testimony that no matter what obstacles we come up against, what adversity assails us, what depth of despair overwhelms us—we can overcome and live a blessed, peaceful and crazy happy life.
Their story brings out into the open negative things that none of us want to think about, but often live secret lives of: fear, undeserved adversity, discouragement, trauma, loss, a “cruel” God, deep heartache, betrayal, abandonment, impoverishment, desolation, not measuring up, regret, mistakes, and (fill in with your own feelings).
Yet no matter how messy and hard life gets, God is with us, bringing goodness out of the ugliness!
Psalm 68:19-20, “Blessed be the Lord, Who bears our burdens and carries us day by day, even the God Who is our salvation! God is to us a God of deliverance and salvation; and to God the Lord belongs escape from death [setting us free].”
DO YOU FEEL YOU ARE IN A PLACE OF DEATH SPIRITUALLY, EMOTIONALLY OR EVEN PHYSICALLY?
Are you facing a relationship crisis, feeling hopeless and afraid? Or perhaps a relationship has just ended, and the future looks bleak. God knows what you are going through right now. He knows the bitter ache inside your heart. He has a plan for you—a GOOD plan!
Job and his wife set an example for us of being authentic and willing to learn and grow as they waited for the resolution to their problems. Did they do it perfectly? Nope. Were they changed into better people by it? Yes! And God turned their tragedy around. Not only that, but they have encouraged and taught others throughout history.
YOU MAY BE GOING THROUGH DISCOURAGING OR TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCES RIGHT NOW.
Your response is crucial to come out the other side victoriously. In modern times we call it being resilient and recognizing that we can’t go it alone. We need strength and support beyond ourselves.
Deuteronomy 31:6 says, “Be strong, courageous, and firm; fear not nor be in terror before them, for it is the Lord your God Who goes with you; He will not fail you or forsake you.”
So why do I focus on something positive like Job and being a “Butterfoot” when relationships and life can be so painful and negative?
Because when we have God, there is always goodness and light somewhere in the darkness. During insurmountable trouble, Job and his wife didn’t camp there forever. They worked through it. It was hard, but they did it. You can too. You can, with the help of God, come to know the reality of being a “Butterfoot.”
BUTTER IS THE CONSTANT SYMBOL OF GOOD LIVING.
Butter symbolizes goodness, happiness, health, purity, life, and sacredness. It sustains lives, cultures and civilizations. The process of making butter symbolizes a process that produces growth, understanding and maturity.
This is important to achieving and sustaining a life free of relationship heartache and moving forward into a productive life of happiness and fulfillment.
Imagine all this pain behind you. Imagine a life full of joy and peace, contentment, laughter, love, purpose. Imagine the “friendship and counsel of God over your tent.” (Job 29:4)
